    Rotimatic Pizza

As promised in the Pita bread post, here is my pizza recipe. Ok, I know you might be wondering what made to try pita bread while tackling the pizza. After making three personalized pizzas, I was a bit concerned about the storing the flour mix as it contains yeast.

I know I can freeze the flour, but I wanted to try a few other recipes, and that paved the way to make the pita bread.

How to Store the Flour Mix with Yeast?

As I mentioned above you can freeze the flour mix, and that stops the yeast action, and when required, you can bring the flour to room temperature, and you can use it again. I would not recommend freezing the flour more than a week. If you are refrigerating, then use within two days maximum. Or you can plan to make pizzas and pita bread and use it all. :-)

I have few other recipes that I have with this yeast flour mix and will share it soon. :-)

The flour mix is precisely like pita bread flour mix, but I added 1 tbsp of spinach powder to make my green pizza base. It is not mandatory to add the spinach powder, but it adds color, flavor and makes it a bit healthy too. You can include onion powder or garlic powder any vegetable powder instead of spinach powder. But adjust the amount as per your taste preference.

I used a pizza stone for this recipe, but you use other alternatives for pizza stone like cast iron pan or baking sheet. If using the baking sheet, invert it and keep it in the oven while pre-heating. Placing the pita bread on the hot surface yields a nice crust around the edges and soft and moist bread in the middle.

    Rotimatic Pizza Toppings

I went with simple toppings this time. I used pizza sauce for one and tomato basil pesto sauce for the other one. And then I topped it with some olives and cheese. But the sky is the limit for pizza toppings. You can personalize it according to each one’s preference and serve yummylicious pizza. Here are a few pizza recipes on my blog and you can use these toppings on your Rotimatic Pizza.

    • Pesto Pizza
    • Shahi Paneer Pizza
    • Bread Pizza
    • Wild Mushroom Pizza
    • Curried Paneer Pizza

Now you are all set for a pizza party.

And I can’t wait to share my recipe where I am sharing different flour mixes for your back to school preparation.  So stay tuned. Now without any further ado, here is how I made Pizza with Rotimatic.

    Rotimatic Pizza Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • Flour Mix:
    • Wheat Flour – 1.5 cups
    • All-Purpose Flour -1.25 cups
    • Salt – 1 tsp
    • Active Dry Yeast – 2 tsps
    • Sugar – 1 tsp
    • Spinach Powder – 1 tbsp
    • Water – as required to fill the water container
    • Oil – as needed to fill the oil container
    • The Toppings:
    • Pizza or Pasta Sauce – 1 tbsp
    • Tomato-Basil Pesto – 1 tsp
    • Olives – 3
    • Cheese – 4 tbsps for each

    Rotimatic Settings:

    • Recipe: Pizza
    • Flour: Aashirvaad Select
    • Thickness: 5
    • Roast: 1
    • Oil: 2

    Steps:

    • In a bowl, add all the ingredients.
    • Mix it thoroughly.

Adding all the ingredients in a bowl

    • Transfer it to the flour container of rotimatic.
    • Now start the rotimatic and select the pizza option and the flour. I used Aashirvaad Select.
    • Select your thickness (5), roast level (1), and oil(2). You can see the setting level above.

    • Select the count and let the rotimatic do its magic.

    • Take the pressed bread and keep it on the tray or glassware and wrap it with the cling film.

    Wrapping the pressed bread

    • Let it sit for 2.5 hours.
    • While it is about 2 hours, you can pre-heat the oven with the pizza stone inside to 350 deg F. If you don’t have a pizza stone, then place the baking tray upside down and pre-heat it. Keeping the tray upside down helps to slide the bread quickly.
    • Remove the cling film and place it on a dusted surface. Poke some holes using a fork.

    • And then spread your toppings.

    Spreading toppings

    • Now carefully place this on the pizza stone in the oven.
    • Bake at 350 deg F for six to eight minutes or until the cheese melts thoroughly.

    Notes:

    • As we are handling hot oven here, please be careful while placing the bread and removing it from the pizza stone.
    • You can skip the spinach powder and use any other veggie powder or skip them completely.
    • Add and adjust the toppings as per your preference.
    • You can add the salt to the water container as well instead of mixing it with the flour.
    • This measure works perfectly fine, but with different flours, it might not be the case. Adjust the yeast amount or the setting time accordingly.

      Hello,
Can you add pre-made dough to rotimatic?
My kids love grated paneer / tofu / vegetable Chapatis.

I don’t think so. I have added spinach powder and beets powder but not the fresh ones. Once it kneads the dough, you can open the side door and get the kneaded balls and stuff, roll and make it on the stove-top.
