Yet another summer recipe! Here is a simple Rose Syrup & Roohafza Popsicle. A quick fix with 5 ingredients under 10 minutes (it does take time to set though). All we need to do is mix the ingredients and freeze in your favorite molds and of course slurp and enjoy. :-)

We all love popsicles. Holding them in hand and slurping is absolute fun. Last year I started to mix different fruit flavors and juices for preparing these semi-homemade popsicles.

You can prepare all these popsicles in less than 10 minutes, and it takes about 4 to 6 hours for it set as these are all water-based popsicles. I usually let me popsicles freeze overnight, but four to six hours should be sufficient.

    Semi-homemade Popsicles-

During summer, I always carry some store-bought syrups like nannari, rose syrup, rooh afza, and other simple ones. You can easily whip up some delicious lassi, sharbat or these kinds of popsicles with them.

I love rose syrup and rooh afza. They come in handy for many simple sharbat and other recipes. I have already shared rose jello and lemon curd sharbat with rose syrup. I used rooh afza in my watermelon popsicle as well.

This year I am combining rose syrup and rooh afza for preparing these Rose Syrup & Roohafza Popsicles. As much as I love fresh fruit-based popsicles, I love these semi-homemade ones also. I know the store-bought syrups might have some sugar, but when compared to the packaged popsicles the sugar amount is comparatively less and you can flavor these up in different ways as well.

You can add fresh lemon or lime juice to this popsicle or even crushed berries or fresh fruits. This is a very basic popsicle version and you modify it as per your liking and ingredient availability.

Before getting into this recipe, here are a couple of popsicle recipes from my archives. Let’s beat the scorching summer heat with this simple and yummy popsicles:

    • Watermelon Roohafza Popsicle
    • Kala Khatta Popsicle
    • Black Currant Popsicle

Watch me make the other three popsicles-

How to make rose syrup and rooh afza popsicle-

    • Mix all the ingredients together and whisk them well till the sugar dissolves.
    • Now pour this rose syrup mix in your favorite molds and freeze until set or for atleast 4 to 6 hours.
To easily remove it from the mold, let it sit on a bowl filled with water for 20 to 30 seconds and slowly take them out. Alternatively, you can run the popsicle mold in the tap water and take them out slowly.
    • That’s it. Yummy semi-homemade popsicles are ready.
    • Slurp and Enjoy!!!!

    Recipe Notes:

    • You can prepare this popsicle either with rooh afza or with rose syrup alone.
    • Adjust the syrup proportion and sugar according to your preference.
    • You can add a tbsp of lemon juice or lime juice with a zest for additional flavor.
    • You can also include 2 tbsps of fresh fruits or berries or soaked chia seeds or basil seeds. This recipe is a basic version, and you can enhance it as per your liking.

I am in the process of splitting all the combo recipes into individual post. For some reason last year, I posted both kala khatta and black currant as one post. So split them up and back scheduled it to same date. So you might have received the email but it wont show up as latest post. Have to do for few more recipes. :-)
