You can’t go wrong with milkshakes and ice cream. Here is yet another super simple strawberry milkshake loaded with two different ice-cream flavors – chocolate and vanilla.

strawberry milkshake in masor jars with strawberries around

I have explained about milkshake in my banana milkshake recipe but I always wonder what’s the difference between dairy-based smoothies and milkshakes. While some milkshakes don’t call for ice creams some smoothies do call for ice creams. :-) So this strawberry milkshake can be called as strawberry ice cream smoothie as well. :-)

Let’s leave the names and focus just on the recipe. :-) I love to add natural flavors in my milkshakes and I always opt for fruits. When fresh strawberries are around, what can be better than that. I always have frozen berries mix in my freezer for my quick berry and yogurt smoothie but when fresh fruits are around, I always try to lay my hands on them.

    Ice Cream Combinations-

I am using the combination of two ice creams here – vanilla and chocolate. We love this combo and this milkshake is definitely a sinful treat for sure. I know the calories are slightly high for this milkshake but as always keep your portions small and enjoy. Instead of depriving, I always believe in portion control.

Like any other milkshake, the ingredients and measurements used are totally customizable. So you can adjust accordingly to your dietary needs. You can replace dairy-based ice creams with vegan ice cream or add yogurt and maple syrup instead of ice creams.

The sky is the limit when it comes to making smoothies and milkshakes. Unleash your creativity and play with the ingredients and trust me you will come up with a delicious combination.

Now let’s see how to make this milkshake with fresh strawberries.

    2 in 1 Milkshake Videos-

I made a 2 in 1 video of how to make both banana milkshake and strawberry milkshake and you can check it out here.

hand shot like some serving the strawberry milkshake

Ingredients Required for the fresh strawberry milkshake-

    • 10 to 12 strawberries, hulled and cut into halves (set aside 1 to garnish)
    • 1 cup milk
    • ½ cup chocolate ice cream
    • ¼ cup vanilla ice cream
    • 5 pumpkin seeds, crushed to garnish

    How to make strawberry milkshake-

    • Wash and hull the strawberries.
    • Add all the ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.
    • Garnish it with finely chopped strawberries and pistachios. Serve it immediately.

    Recipe Notes-

    • If your strawberries are not sweet, add sugar or honey. You can also add more vanilla ice cream.
    • You can add mixed berries or frozen mixed berries instead of fresh strawberries.
    • There is no set measure for this recipe. You can adjust the ingredients according to your preference.
    • Also, instead of vanilla ice cream, you can use butterscotch ice cream or caramel flavored ice cream.
    • Garnishing is optional. You can use nuts of your choice or skip nuts and keep it nut-free. You can even use some grated chocolate to garnish
