Homemade mango iced tea made with fresh ingredients! Enjoy this summer with this preservative-free, freshly made mango tea. Learn how to make this mango black tea with detailed step-wise pictures.
1limeapprox 3 to 4 tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon/juice
2tbspsugar or sweetener of your choice
ice cubes as required
Instructions
Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil. I boiled my water in my electric kettle. Transfer the hot water to a pitcher and add the black tea. Let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Strain the tea and refrigerate it for an hour or two. You can brew the tea ahead for this recipe and refrigerate it.
Add the brewed tea, lemon/lime juice, fresh mango pulp, and ice cubes into the blender.
Blend them well and check for sweetness. Add sugar, honey, agave nectar, or any sweetener you choose and blend again.
Transfer to serving glasses or to a pitcher and refrigerate. Serve this mango tea chilled, and add more ice cubes before serving.
Notes
If the mangoes are sweet, you might not need sugar or sweetener. If using, adjust it according to taste. You can use honey, agave nectar, maple syrup, or coconut sugar.
You can make the tea in your preferred way and as you like. I didn't opt for a strong tea for this mango tea and went with 2 tsps of black tea. For a strong version, add 3 to 4 tsps of black tea or use the same measure and brew it a little longer.
Don't brew the tea for 10 minutes unless you do a cold brew. Steeping the tea for longer in hot water makes it slightly bitter.
Instead of black tea, you can use green tea or a mix of green and black tea.
