Powdered Sesame Seed Balls | Method 2
The traditional elli urundai or sesame seed balls prepared by powdering sesame seeds and jaggery together and shaped into balls.
White Sesame Seeds – ½ cup
Powdered Jaggery – ½ cup
Green Cardamom – 2
A handful of raisins
Milk – 2 tsps
Dry roast white sesame seeds till they brown.
Let this cool and dry grind the roasted sesame seeds with green cardamom and jaggery.
Add the raisins to this powdered mixture and start making balls. The oil content in sesame seeds helps in binding. If required sprinkle 2 tsps of milk and prepare the balls.
Milk can be replaced with ghee also.
