Iced Fusion Tea | A Mix of Fruit Tea and Tender Coconut Water

TeaMocktailFeature

Here is a perfect summer party drink – A simple tea mock tail recipe prepared with fruit flavored caffeine free tea and tender coconut water and the flavors are elevated with a dash of lime juice and kiwi fruit chunks.

I know this year we are having an extended spring in Bay. The weather is so sporadic.  (Luckily I can still do my spring yard work) Soon it will be summer break and the grilling and sizzling season will start. Before that I wanted to post this mock tail recipe. Last year, I posted the green tea spritzer and here comes the second one. I love herbal and fruit flavored teas. I mix and match couple of flavors and love to try those fusions.

My recent find is the Tazo Passion Tea. It is a caffeine-free tea with the infusion of hibiscus, orange peel, rose hips and passion fruit flavors.  I love the vibrant pink color and these fusion teas are perfect for the parties and potlucks. This can be prepared well ahead and refrigerated. To be honest, you don’t need any occasion for this mock tail or you don’t need to wait for parties and potlucks.  This is a refreshing drink during the hot summer afternoons.

You can mix and match the ingredients that you have. (Please see notes below). But this is what I did,

Ingredients:

  • Tazo Passion flavor tea bags – 2
  • Tender Coconut Water – One 11 oz can
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Sugar – to taste. I added 3 tsps.
  • Fresh Kiwi Chunks – 1/4 cup

Steps:

  • Mix the water and tender coconut water and sugar.
  • Add the tea bags and kiwi chunks to this mixture.

  • Let it refrigerate for about 40 to 45 minutes. This helps the flavors to get infused well.

  • Remove the kiwi chunks and serve chilled with dash of lime.

IcedTea

Notes:

  • I didn’t boil the water and add the tea bags. But you can warm 1 cup of water and add the tea bags and let it settle for about 20 minutes and then add the other ingredients and serve chilled.
  • I added the lemon juice just before serving.
  • Instead of kiwi any other berries or apricots or cherries can be added.
  • Adjust the sugar according to your preference.
  • Instead of canned tender coconut water, if you can find the fresh ones go for it. (obviously right?, I miss the fresh tender coconut water)
  • Along with this you can add one green tea bag too.

  1. You know, I am not a lover of tea but recently made iced tea and loved it :) This looks delicious – great presentation and clicks too! Especially the glasses are really nice :)

    • Thanks a lot pa.. I love both tea and coffee. I love these fruit flavored teas especially. I used to mix one bag of flavored tea and one bag of green tea to get used to the taste of green tea. ;-)

Would love hear back from you. Drop in your feedback and comments. Thanks
