Peas Kurma

PeasKurma

Each and every family has their own kurma or korma recipes and all those recipes are awesome and authentic. I have tasted my mother’s version, my chithi’s version and my friend’s version and of course the restaurant version. Each of these just differs in couple of ingredients but that change in ingredients gives altogether a different and unique taste. I have already posted two kurma recipes (Vegetable kurma and Turnip Kurma) and here is my third one. I love kurma with roti/chapatti and also with rice. Yeah, I can have kurma and plain rice.

As each and every recipe is color coded in our household, the same story continues with kurma also. This simple peas kurma is also called white kurma err I should say brownish white kurma. Ok, let me leave that to you all. You can decide what color it is. I love this recipe as it is easy to prepare. Less chopping involved. I am adding only peas and how long does it going to take to cook? Also you can grind the masala in the night and refrigerate it and in the morning just sauté the masala and add the peas and cook it. It’s a total time saver recipe but at the same time flavorful recipe.

You can add potatoes to this recipe, but I just kept it simple with peas. Instead of chutney dal / pottukadalai, you can use cashews and that makes it rich and great for parties.
