Turnip Kurma / Kuruma / Korma

Turnip Kurma or korma is great side for roti, naan and pooris. This goes well with mild rice varieties like brinji masala rice and coconut milk rice. I prepared this kurma with green turnips and to add color and texture I added potatoes and carrots. The gravy base is prepared with coconut and other masala ingredients.

You can find my other version of vegetable kuruma here. And yeah you read the title right :-). Kuruma with turnips. Chef Damu, in one of his shows  was mentioning turnips can be added for both vegetable biriyani and kuruma. I gave it try and was totally surprised. The kurma came out really great . And from that point, if I have turnips at home, I use them for kuruma and vegetable biriyani.

I prepared this to go with coconut milk rice. Coconut milk rice is very mild and raita alone is not enough as a side dish. Kuruma goes well with that and here is the recipe.
